What Does Craniosacral Therapy Treat?

What Is Craniosacral Therapy?

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on therapy which restores the balance of the cranial-sacral system and enhances the function of the central nervous system. It is well-known for stress reduction, restoring balance and vitality. Craniosacral Therapy enhances our natural self-healing mechanism. CST focuses on bringing the head and spine into alignment. It releases the nervous system from pressure and nerve pain. It benefits those suffering from pain, trauma and can help to maintain general wellness. Craniosacral Therapy is so gentle that it is appropriate for all ages from 1-day old baby to people who are under Palliative care.

How Does Craniosacral Therapy Work?

A craniosacral therapy session is performed fully dressed, usually with the patient lying down or face up. We will first assess the pattern of energy in the body to detect the current state of your body and where the key problem areas are, through using light hand placements on the patient’s body. Next, using a light touch and subtle movement, restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebral spinal fluid through the spinal cord is optimized, and misaligned bones are restored to their proper position, bringing the body into harmony. Patients often feel a sense of deep relaxation during and after the treatment.
